Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

You see Volkswagen commercial vehicles on Dutch roads every day. This brand’s commercial vehicles are known for their quality and timeless design. Consider the Volkswagen Caddy and the Volkswagen Transporter. Of course, this brand produces not only commercial vehicles but also passenger cars. A total of two Volkswagens are in the top five best-selling cars. These are the Volkswagen Beetle and the Volkswagen Golf.

The Volkswagen brand originated from World War II. In this, cars would be made for the German people. The requirements for this car were as follows: a top speed of at least 100 kilometers per hour, an air-cooled engine, a maximum consumption of 6/7 liters per 100 kilometers and room for a small family or 3 soldiers with machine guns. Although this car was supposed to be built for the people, the average German has never seen one. The few hundred cars produced went mainly to party members. Later in the war, the Volkswagen plant built military versions of the Beetle as well as rocket and aircraft parts.

After the war, Volkswagen continued as a stand-alone company. The company initially came under Major Ivan Hirst. Under his direction, military vehicles were repaired. As the British Army faced a vehicle shortage, vehicle production was resumed. This production was picked up quickly despite the fact that the factory had no roof! In 1950, Volkswagen made its first van. This was the Volkswagen Transporter, or type 2. You know the Type 2 as the hippie bus. Although Volkswagen also produces trucks, they operate only in South America.

Because Volkswagen makes several commercial vehicles, we introduce them by type. As a result, you will know exactly which Volkswagen commercial vehicle is the best fit for you. Do you already know all the types? Then check out the stock of Volkswagen commercial vehicles.
